Genesis 24:14 NIV 2011
“May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”
Abraham, not wanting his beloved son Isaac to wed a Canaanite, sent his servant to relatives in the town of Nahor for a bride. On the outskirts of town, his servant prayed, verse 12, “Then he prayed, ‘Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today and show kindness on my master Abraham.’” Though not named, his observance of Abraham’s faithfulness to the Lord over the years revealed he knew and worshiped Abraham’s God. 24:26, “Then the man bowed down and worshiped the Lord.” God gives remarkable answers to the prayers of His people.
Talking about prayer with a BSF friend one day, she mentioned she prayed for the spouses of her children. I’d never thought of doing that but prayer was offered daily for the future husbands of our girls. Almost twenty years later we were introduced to Mark. It was amazing to meet the man I’d prayed for over the years. Seven years later we met Brian and knew then He was God’s answer to prayer. God faithfully gives remarkable answers to our prayers.
