Colossians 3:15, 17 NIV 2011
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And to be thankful.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Paul called the Colossians to peace. Like the apostle John quoting Jesus’ words, Paul reminded them that peace in all situations came from Christ alone. John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Peace was the key. Romans 14:19, “Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.”Christ’s peace rules in thankful hearts of sinners saved by Christ.
I have a choice every morning when my feet hit the floor to be bitter or better. Ephesians 5:20, “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” I’m thankful to be alive. I’m thankful to be where ever I am. I am thankful God is still in control. An attitude of gratitude is necessary in this crazy world we live today. Even when the temps are a bit nippy, being thankful and counting my blessings His peace rules in my heart daily.
How will we thank God today?
Receiving blessings and peace together,
