Psalm 19: NIV 2011
The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my redeemer.
David silently sang about creation and affirmed God is the Creator. Paul declared it to the church in Rome. Romans 1:20, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen.” Majestic God is worthy of praise. Psalm 8:1, “Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.” He ended praying his words pleased God. Psalm 104:34, “May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord.” God was David’s Rock. Psalm 18:31, “And who is the Rock except our God?” God the Righteous Rock is worthy of praise.
David talked to the Lord. I do the same daily and that is how I’ve gotten to know Him over the years. The same is true of each of us in any kind of familial relationship. We need to talk and ask questions on our way toward getting to know each other. I need to ask open-ended questions so I’m able to know my husband as well as our girls and their families. Diving deeper talking about the day’s highlights opens meaningful conversation. Talking with God discloses He’s worthy of praise.
What questions will we ask family members?
