Isaiah 41:10 NIV 2011
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah records God’s Words given to him for His people. In verse 4 Isaiah reveals “Who has done this…I, the Lord—with the first of them and with the last—I am he.” Isaiah was called to be God’s servant. Deuteronomy 7:8, “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God.” God told him don’t be afraid because He was with him. Genesis 15:1b, “Do not be afraid Abram. I am your shield.” God would strengthen and help him by upholding him. Isaiah 41:13, “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” God is both powerful and personal.
Spending yesterday in bed gave me the opportunity to remember all the times God has strengthened me. Though it is my least favorite place to “waste” time, I listened to the still small voice and obeyed. I love Isaiah 41. This is Isaiah’s chapter containing reflections of God’s historic steadfast standing with Israel. It is my reminder that God is standing with me, no matter what. When I am following Him, He is my guide and guardian. Daily He’s powerfully with me and knows me personally.
