Romans 8:31b, 35, 37 NIV 2011
If God is for us, who can be against us?
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Isaiah told the Israelites God was with them. Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” Haggai offered the same message. Haggai 1:13, “‘I am with you,’ declares the Lord.” Paul cautioned the faithful in Rome about suffering. God was for them and would be with them. At salvation, Christ is present in the lives of all believers standing faithfully beside them. Life can be stressful and hard but Christ’s love is ever present. God keeps us in His love and preserves us in our faith.
How do we loose sight of all the ways the Lord is for us daily? Personally, when I concentrate on only what I want, I move forward without Him. It’s like going for a walk in flip-flops. I can get it done but the results are never that great. He wants to be a part of everyday events. Prayer helps me stay focused on Him, rather than me. I’ve seen Him standing faithfully beside me through some rough patches. I’m kept in His love while He preserves my faith.
How was the Lord present today?
