Matthew 10:29-31 NIV 2011
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Fathers’s care. And even the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Jesus’ disciples were clearly aware of God’s attention to tiny details. Luke 12:6, “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.” God cared for the small birds sold as food for a trifle. David was keenly aware God cared for His people. Psalm 145:15-16, “The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.” The providence of God is seen in His control of the smallest details.
After my annual GP visit this morning, I went for lab work. Others were waiting as I signed in to be seen. Lisa was the only tech working. She had a routine and it only took twenty minutes before it was my turn. Covid 19 came up as she finished and I commented I’d never met anyone that had it. She froze. She said her mother died 7/20 from Covid19. She knows where her mother is. I told her I’d pray for her as she grieves. God controls the smallest details of our lives.
What small details is God controlling?
Thankful daily He is God,
