Galatians 6:9-10 NIV 2011
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Paul received information about the believers in Galatia. Galatians 1:6b-7a, “living in the grace of Christ and turning to a different gospel—which is really no gospel at all.” The Judaizers had added circumcision and the Law replacing Paul’s teaching; grace alone through Christ alone. 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.” Paul reminded the church what Christ’s commission was for them. Titus 2:13b-14, “Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from wickedness…eager to do what is good.” As believers their lives were to reflect Christ. Christians stand firm in grace alone as Christ’s new creation.
Over the past few years some sharing God’s Word will open in prayer asking God to remove any words that are not true. These are powerful prayers of God’s people wanting to remain steadfast to His Truth. Standing firm in our faith is one thing, but when sharing the Good News with others we step into a different realm. I pray daily to remain true to His Word. My desire is to type His Truth, echoing that prayer as His new creation.
How difficult is it to stand firm?
