Luke 18:16-17 NIV 2011
But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
Matthew, Mark and Luke all give similar accounts of Jesus and the little children. Jesus used the children to show the steps needed by all seeking Jesus. People need to make the decision to “come.” There will be obstacles for all who make that choice. The choice to follow Jesus is available to all. Making that decision involves a heart attitude change. By following Jesus, believers totally depend on Him just like children do their parents. Young children are open, sincere and trusting of their parents. Jesus welcomes those who approach Him like children.

There were three adults and only four little’s throughout the morning. When little Brighton began to fuss, I sang, “Good Morning God.” She calmed right down and began to smile. That’s been my favorite song to sing with my grandchildren. Our youngest grand will even ask me to sing “morning God.” Daily, I need to remember to approach Jesus as a child.
How will you approach Jesus today?
Trusting Jesus together,
