The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provided water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
God spoke to Isaiah after completing a discourse on creating Israel the same way He created Adam and Eve. He alone would redeem His people. God showed His infinite mercy to the animals by providing water where they gathered. Both jackals and owls made their home in the dessert and yet God provided water for them. How much more will God provide for His chosen people? He gently reminded Isaiah of the reason He created humans; they were created to have a relationship with Him. God is dependable and true. God’s people receive His strength by trusting Him. God is both powerful and personal.
Looking back I can see God is dependable and true every single day. His Word never changes. It is the same today as it was when it was originally authored. Trusting Him with my day-to-day choices, I don’t stumble as much. He makes me strong as I place my trust in Him. After reflecting on all that has happened in just the past few months I see He has been the anchor that has kept my ship moored and steadfast. God is powerfully personal in my life.
