Isaiah 55:6-7 NIV 2011
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
Isaiah, like Jeremiah and Ezekiel, is one of three major prophetic books called the Latter Prophets. This book appears first because he was considered the “prince of the prophets.” Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Isaiah gave much the same message to seek Him, to call on Him and God will forgive His faithful. Isaiah 43:25, “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake,” God Almighty forgives because of His infinite mercy and love.
To say, “I forgive you,” has always been much easier than forgetting how I’ve been wronged. That is where God comes into the equation. Spending time with Him in prayer brings me back to Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you!” By beginning to make a list of all the times He has forgiven me I’m astounded. I turn to Acts 3:19, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” He daily forgives me because He’s God.
What hidden sins need to be forgiven?
Thankful for His forgiveness,
