Jeremiah 29:11, 13 NIV 2011
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
God knew the past, present and future of Judah. Psalm 40:5, “Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us.” God’s plan was perfect. Isaiah 55:12, “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace.” God knew what the Jew’s future would be. Zechariah 8:15, “so now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid.” Repentant hearts was the key to their future. 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people…and will heal their land.” Omniscient God calls His people to seek Him with repentant hearts.
After years of flailing aimlessly having lost my lifeline to the Lord, I finally realized that’s what was wrong with my life. It took a while to make the 180-degree turn, but it was accomplished when I repented of my sins and returned to Him. God’s plan was always much higher than mine and he was waiting patiently for me to return. It remains that seminal moment in my life when I asked Him to once more be Lord of my life. With a repentant heart I’m seeking Him continually.
What ways does God prosper His people?
Seeking Him daily,
