“Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”

This was the third beatitude given to John from an angel. Additional information was given to John about future events that were yet to happened. Those who remained faithful to God in all circumstances were seen as righteous. The angel foretold Jesus’ return and completion of God’s judgment on those who do not follow Christ. Everyone standing firm with Christ and overcoming evil. Praising God all will receive God’s power to overcome. While biblical scholars differ in their placement of Armageddon, it’s a picture of God overthrowing all that is evil. God’s justice is meted out upon those who reject Him. God doesn’t change and He is the same every single day.
As a young girl, I thought the God of the Old Testament was an angry God very much different than what Jesus revealed in the New Testament. Studying His Word daily has shown me He hasn’t changed but rather it’s how I thought others painted Him. He desires I have a personal relationship with Him. Everyone may make that life changing choice. God’s Word is consistent, constant, unchanging and He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
