Deuteronomy 33:26-27 NIV 2011
“There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath and the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, “Destroy them!”
Moses’ generation struggled to trust in the Lord God and none was allowed to enter the Promised Land. The word Jeshurun means the upright one, that is, Israel. Moses blessed the tribes of Israel before they enter Promised Land. Moses reminded the people all the ways God was with them in past. The Lord God would continue to be with them as they continued onward. The God of Israel never changed during their journey as He guided their path. He provided food and water as well as the cloud by day and night. Resting in Him, God would remain with them. God is Israel’s guide.
Just as God guided Israel more than three thousand years ago, He does that daily for me. “The eternal God is my refuge and underneath and the everlasting arms.” He enfolded me as well as my family thirty-four years ago as we walked Mandi into eternity. On the precipice of a new normal, He rode across the heavens to help us reach our new normal lives. He was there in the past and is consistently present with me. God is my guide.
Where is God’s guidance visible today?
Safe in His everlasting arms,
