Exodus 15:26 NIV 2011
“If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the disease I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
The Lord put the Israelites to a test. Exodus 15:25c, “There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test.” God tested Abraham. Genesis 22:1, “Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, ‘Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ he replied.” The judges were used by God to test His people, Judges 3:4. God tested Job, Job 23:10. He continually tested the Israelites. Isaiah 48:10, “See, I have refined you, though not as silver, I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” Even during times of testing, God is trustworthy.
During my walk yesterday I hummed “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.” Sweet words I’ve heard over the years in the halls of BSF. A child learning at a very young age to trust the Lord is fundamental in their spiritual growth. The same is true for we as adults. God’s Word reveals that trusting God is pivotal in my daily life. I know when being tested, God is always trustworthy.
How does our life style reveal God is trustworthy?
Tested but trusting Him,
