Matthew 12:35-36 NIV 2011
“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give an account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.”
Jesus spoke to the crowd after the Pharisee’s accusations. He healed in the synagogue and healed a demon-possessed man. The Pharisees were again questioning Him. Matthew 12:25, “Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.’” The Lord will return and judge the world. His words are true. 1 Peter 4:5, “But they will have to give an account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.” God’s justice is perfect.
Deuteronomy 32:4, “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.” Another verse that grounds my daily. When the lines of my life become blurred, I return to it. I wouldn’t consider myself an evil person but there are parts of my life that are not worthy of God’s sight. I’m constantly thankful I have a Savior that has covered my sins and those dark areas of my life. I will stand before God Almighty and give my account. His justice is perfect!
How does God’s justice change believers?
