Proverbs 8:33-35 NIV 2011

“Listen to my instructions and be wise; do not disregard it.

Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord.”

God used wise men to write wise words to instruct His people to live wisely. Proverbs 1:7a, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…” God’s Word is true containing His Wisdom for life and must be studied to know God. Knowing God through time spent daily with Him through prayer and study leads to a wiser walk with Him. Proverbs 3:13, “Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.” Those who seek the Lord find His favor. John 1:4, “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” Seeking the Lord leads to life.

How often have I started my day on the run? I can honestly type not as many as thirty years ago. It was at that time I began to walk every morning and spend time with the Lord as I walked. It’s part of my daily routine now and if I miss my walk, the day just doesn’t seem right. Writing gives me the opportunity to seek the Lord and find His favor. The more I study God’s Word, the more I hear Him speaking to me. Seeking Him leads me to life.

How do you seek the Lord?

The Father’s favored,
