Ezekiel 36:26-27 NIV 2011
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
Ezekiel here finished God’s four promises: return, cleansing, renewal and live God’s way. It was new covenant language. Jeremiah 31:33, “‘This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,’ declares the Lord.” Ezekiel’s words were specific for his fellow Jews in captivity. God would cleanse their heart. Ezekiel 18:31, “Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart…” The indwelling Holy Spirit guides God’s people to stand on His Word. Ezekiel 37:4, “I will put my Spirit in you and you will live…” Believers receive a heart-transplant and new birth at salvation.

Firmly standing on His Word helps ground my faith. At salvation I received a heart-transplant and new birth.
How does standing on God’s Word change hearts?
