Mark 10:25-27 NIV 2011
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?”
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
A rich man asked Jesus a question, “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” The man prefaced his question by calling Jesus, “Good teacher.” Defending all his good deeds, his wealth held more importance. Jesus’ statement was profound knowing no camel would fit through a needle’s eye. Confused, His disciples asked Jesus who could be saved. Salvation does not come through good works but by God’s grace. Ephesians 2:8, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.” Sinners are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus.
There was a time when I was very self-sufficient. Things were bumping along as the three of us settled into our routine. It was a few years later when I realized I was powerless without the One I’d committed my life to many years before. It was after once again turning over my life to Him the pieces began to fall into place. I daily remain surrendered to Him. I’m a sinner saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus.
Who needs to know Jesus saves sinners?
