Philippians 1:27 NIV 2011

Paul reminded the believers in Philippi of their call to advance the cause of Christ. He asked if they were living by the standards given in the Gospel just as he wrote the church at Ephesus. Ephesians 4:1, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Other letters hold a similar message on standing firm in their faith. 1 Corinthians 18:13a, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith…” Eternal life is the promise to those whose faith is firmly founded on Christ.
As a believer in Christ, my ultimate question is, what is my final destination? Working backwards from that truth, I’m able to discover what the Lord desires of me. Paul delineated the steps I need to take to remain on His path. Following Christ, He charts the direction I’m to walk. Sharing the Truth of God’s Word offers clarity to my path. Remaining steadfast by standing firmly on His promises bolsters my faith. By firmly placing my faith in Jesus Christ I received His promise of eternal life.
