Isaiah 55:12-13 NIV 2011

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.

Chapters 40-66 contain the rest of Isaiah’s message: comfort. He wrote of what was ahead for God’s people returning from captivity. This was fulfilled when they departed Babylon and returned to Israel. Isaiah 35:9b-10a, “But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the Lord rescued will return.” The people would return with joyful singing. They would no longer experience desolation. They would return to the comfort of home. Those who return to the Lord will experience God’s peace.

January 6, 2016 was the beginning of the short and sweet version of The Daily. It came via a suggestion from my husband. I understood God used him to condense my thoughts to say more with fewer words. His words were short and sweet, “250 words including the Scripture and only five days a week.” It’s better to use 250 words but continue to send this every day of the week. Since less is more, God called me to brevity and daily experience His perfect peace.

How will we experience God’s perfect peace today?

Together we share His peace every day,
