John 14:13, Ephesians 5:19b-20 NIV 2011
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
John quoted Jesus’ words as the only way to the Father in John 13:6. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Just as Matthew quoted Jesus Words in 7:7, Jesus will answer the prayers of believers. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians contains instructions for Christian living. He concluded that portion with prayer remembering to thank God who gave them everything in the name of His Son, Jesus. Psalm 34:1, “I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” A believer’s prayer includes using Jesus’ name.
Father God, looking out at the white covered landscape, I stand in awe at the beauty of the day and await the way You will use me. While it is a cold reminder of the temperature outside, it is also a picture of the white washed way You see me through the lens of Jesus Christ. You remind me daily of your abiding love and faithfulness even when I wander far from your presence. Thank-you, in Jesus powerful and resurrected name, amen!
