Galatians 5:1, 13 NIV 2011
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by the yoke of slavery.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Before Christ, laws of the Pharisees and the Seduces burdened God’s people. Jesus came to set them free. Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” God’s favor is available to all who follow Jesus Christ. John 8:32, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Christ sets sinners free. Galatians 5:24, “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Believers are set free through faith in Jesus Christ.
Freedom is a deep-rooted emotion hidden within God’s people. He gave us the freedom to make our own choices. When I’m free to do things for others there is no need to be coerced. I am free in Christ, which makes me free from the laws, free from sin and free to be exactly what God created me to be. Just as He looks out for my best interest, I choose to do the same for those I love. My faith in Christ has set me free.
How do we use our freedom in a loving way daily?
