With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything form the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus.
But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
Luke, a Gentile physician, was steeped in approaching medicine with order. Likewise he would approach his account of Jesus Christ in the same manner. He was accurate and orderly in choosing words for his historic account of Jesus. In Acts he again chose order for his writing. Acts 11:4, “Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story.” Paul concluded his discourse on worship revealing to Corinth how to worship. He included specifics for keeping good order during their time of worship. 1 Corinthians 14:33a, “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” Order is needed among God’s people.
I’m not ashamed to admit I’m a woman that is most comfortable in a neat and orderly home. Growing up my room was always neat and tidy. If you open my drawers you can find what you are looking for as I describe where it’s located in the drawer. God created the heavens and the earth in an orderly fashion. God gave Moses orders to show His people the way they were to travel on their journey to the Promised Land. As one of God’s children, I order my day.
