Philippians 4:4-6 NIV 2011

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God.

Rejoice is an action found throughout God’s Word. Psalm 67:12, “Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous and praise his holy name.” Habakkuk 3:18, “yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” Matthew 5:12, “Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven…” Going to the Lord in prayer is the action to be taken by God’s people when anxiety begins to creep into our lives. 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Rejoice in the Lord and pray with thanksgiving.

I’ve been spending time with a dear sister-in-Christ the past month. She led our women’s Bible study called “Heart to Heart” at church 1992 to 1994. This passage is marked with the date and a heart I drew as a reminder to take the Scripture to heart. It’s an awesome prompt to rejoice in all that God has done in my life. Sometimes I loose sight of all that He has done through out my life on a daily basis. He is the reason I am the woman I am today. Rejoicing by thanking God.

Where is God at work today?

Thankful we’re His,

S
