Psalm 34:7-9 NIV 2011

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who love him, and he delivers them.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.

Even during the worst of times during his life, David leaned into the Lord knowing He was with him. David praised God for answering his prayer and God’s continued deliverance. He loved the Lord and believed His heavenly emissary was his ever-present shield. God blesses and delivers His people. Psalm 37:40, “The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.” Fearing the Lord drives His people toward Him. Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” Those who fear the Lord find refuge in Him.

Awake early, prayer for some friends was the direction the Lord led me. I found this Psalm helpful in knowing how to pray. Many of David’s psalms have helped me fear the Lord as I daily walk with Him. Psalm 139:14, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, and I know that full well.” Worldly ways are a constant distraction for me. But I will remain resolute in my resolve by remaining faithful to God. Fearing the Lord, I find refuge in Him.

Where are God’s wonderful works visible?

Fearfully and wonderfully made,
