Luke 10:29, 37, 42b NIV 2011

But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”

The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

“Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Jesus sent seventy-two in pairs to share the Good News . Luke 19:16, “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.” Jesus told the parable of the good Smaritan. Luke 10:30, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers.” A priest and Levite both passed by while the Samaritan offered aid. Jesus and His disciples spent time with two sisters. Martha was busy while Mary sat at Jesus feet. Following Christ requires direction and mercy tempered with grace.

Once Jesus began His ministry, He never looked back nor stopped. That’s the model He’s been for me. Plugging into various jobs in each church I’ve been a part of is how the Lord has called me to serve Him. The same was true in BSF as there was always a place for me to serve in each new class. My current church offers places to serve and use the skills God has given me. As a follower of Christ, I need His direction and mercy daily pepppered with grace.

Where is He directing us?

Grace filled servants,
