Judges 5:2, 31 NIV 2011
“When the princes in Israel take the land, whom the people willingly offer themselves—praise the Lord!”
“So may all your enemies perish, Lord! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.”
Then the land had peace forty years.
God delivered Israel after the death of Joshua by using leaders like Deborah as judges. Judges 2:16, “Then the Lord raised up judges, who saved them out of the hands of these raiders.” But the rest of the story remained the same; the people chose to go their own way and follow other gods. Judges 6:1, “The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and for seven years he gave them into the hands of the Midianites.” The Israelites turned to God. He heard their plea and peace reigned once again. Praise and petitioning God promises His peace.
When my soul is restless in need of peace, I go to God’s Word. Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Living on this side of the cross, the Savior died for our sins and the Holy Spirit is with us daily. God continues to deliver us when we humbly come to Him in repentance and turn from our sinful ways. I praise God, petition for a focused path and receive His peace.
How has God delivered you recently?
Resting peacefully in Him,
