1 Corinthians 3:6-7, 9 NIV 2011
I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
Paul was the seed planter. Acts 18:4, “Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.” He took the gospel message where no one had gone before. Apollos, Paul’s helper, was the one that came after Paul and reiterated the Truth of Christ crucified. Paul laid the foundation upon which Apollos built. The seeds dropped and watered on God’s fertile farmland grew by His hand. Isaiah 61:3b, “They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord; for the display of his splendor.” Jesus is the foundation field for faith.
After lacing up our “tennies” yesterday, looking out at the city that lies in the valley, there is a field that’s ripe for Jesus. It’s God’s mission field and I’m wiling to plant or water because I know He makes things grow. Our BSF year begins next Tuesday and there are classes that still need leaders. I’m praying our Unstoppable God rises up those He has called to serve. I’m praying for my new church to be a Light in our community. Jesus is the foundation field of my faith.
Where is God calling you to serve?
Daily faithfully His,
