Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV 2011

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Because of Judah’s sin, Jeremiah was called by God to announce their destruction. He shared the words of the Lord reminding them they were blessed and could always trust Him. Psalm 146:5, “Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God.” The Lord would bring them comfort when they returned to Him. They were the trees He had planted. Psalm 1:3a, “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water.” God’s people rooted in His Word will share His Truth.

I feel like “a tree planted by the water” sitting at my desk reflecting on these verses. Trusting Him as I sent the first daily and the confidence that He’s given me since has blessed me beyond all measure. It was four years ago that the web site went live. We’re now reaching almost 200 readers. God is using this ministry to send out His roots via the Internet. Daily His Word keeps my leaves green. Rooted in His Word we’re able to share Jesus.

Where’s God planting His people today?

Sharing Jesus together,
