Psalm 41:9, John 13:18 NIV 2011
Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me.
“I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turned against me.’”
A trusted friend and guest would betray King David. Imperfect David followed God’s plan. Numbers 30:2, “When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.” Jesus knew he would be betrayed and rejected but followed God’s plan. Matthew 20:28, “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Jesus knew His future and still followed the plan.
How many of us would follow God’s plan if we knew how it would end? Well, I will honestly type I would because God’s plan would be perfect. My problem is the people that sometimes get in my way. When I was younger I just kind of did my own thing. Many times that did not end well. But since I returned to follow Christ, I see the path He’s put before me. I may not know my future but God’s amazing plan is the daily path He wants me to follow.
How do we follow God’s plan?
