Psalm 96:1-3 NIV 2011
Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among the all the peoples.
This Psalm’s author began by calling every nation to sing praises to the Lord daily. It was also a charge for those who trust in Him to declare without reservation His gift of salvation, available to all who trust and believe in Him. Jesus commissioned the disciples in the same way. Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.” This song sung by those who followed the Lord reveals how God’s word lives in the hearts of His people. Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” God is worthy of daily praise from His people.
I’m currently carrying around invitations to our Easter services at church. Everyone needs to hear the Good News that Jesus saves sinners just like me. It’s an easy way to invite people to hear the Good News. I praise God for the opportunities to share His Good News as we are all called to do. Whether it’s writing daily, helping in VBS or the myriad of other ways He chooses to use me, I will always answer, yes. That is my purpose. My God is worthy of praise daily.
Who needs to hear the Good News?
