Blessed are those who fear the Lord.
Even in the darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
All who obediently follow the Lord are set apart. Godly wisdom guides their path. Psalm 1:1, “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.” The Lord remains even in the dark moments of life. Psalm 18:28, “You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.” God never changes. Psalm 111:3, “Glorious and majestic are his deeds.” God’s faithful are generous. Psalm 37:26, “They are always generous and lend freely. The Lord blesses those who are upright and generous.
There are 150 Psalms. Reading two a day, would take you more than 74 days. Psalm 119 is the longest with 176 verses, therefore it might take four days to read through them. There are 31 Proverbs. I’ve challenged myself to read through both books this summer to soak in God’s wisdom that lies in both. Having studied David and Solomon’s lives this year, I’ve learned God uses flawed individuals for His good purposes. Through God’s amazing grace, He uses all His people. I’m blessed daily because I’m His.
