Exodus 3:7-8a NIV 2011
The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them…”
God is ever present in the lives of His people. Psalm 106:44, “Yet he took note of their distress when he heard their cry…” Judges 3:9, “But when they cried out to the Lord, he raised up for them a deliverer…” God knew when they were suffering. Exodus 3:16, “I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt.” Israel’s plight coupled with God’s care and concern led to God rescuing Israel. Exodus 18:11, “Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the other gods, for he did this to those who had treated Israel arrogantly.” God is compassionate.
I received a text today from a friend sharing news of a mutual friend from a church we both attended years ago. Our friend had a stroke last year and was not doing well. She wanted to visit but didn’t want to intrude. I told her to show up and ask if she could read to our friend from her Bible. “Go with specific Scripture to read and share how it’s made an impact on your life.” My next visit I’ll do the same sharing God’s compassion.
Where do you see God is compassionate daily?
Grateful God’s compassionate,
