Numbers 6:22-26 NIV 2011

The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons. ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:

“‘“The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’”

God chose Aaron as His head of the priesthood. 1 Chronicles 23:13, “The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart, he and his descendants forever, to consecrate the most holy things…and to pronounce blessings in his name forever.” In offering this blessing to faithful Israelites they could remain right with the Lord. Psalm 17:8, “Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.” God’s peace, shalom, remained with them as they remained with Him. God blesses those with firm, steadfast hearts turned toward Him.

My husband drove through the rain this morning to visit our friend, Ron, at James Cancer Hospital. The two met on the golf course and became friends our second year in Ohio. Since then they have been inseparable on the golf course. The diagnosis made earlier this year has led to his current stay in the hospital. A conversation with my husband assured me he is a believer. I chose this Scripture to read just before our departure. Knowing His heart lies with the Lord, God will bless him daily.

Who needs to know the Lord?

Blessed together,
