Exodus 34:5-6 NIV 2011
Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionated and gracious God, slow to anger abounding in love and faithfulness.
Moses spent time on Mt. Sinai with the Lord and was given the Ten Commandments. Upon his return, the people sinfully chose to worship a golden calf. Moses sought the Lord after God’s plague began. Taking two new stone tablets, Moses returned to Mt. Sinai. Just as He’d stated, the Lord passed in front of Him declaring love and faithfulness. Exodus 6:3, “I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty.” God is compassionately gracious. Psalm, 86:15, “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God…” Even though God’s people make sinful choices God remains faithful.
There was a period of time in my life when I wasn’t walking with the Lord. Like the Israelites I made sinful choices. When I began to follow Jesus once again, I could see God’s Hand on my shoulder guiding me daily. There were parts of my life that needed His forgiveness. Like the Israelites, He compassionately gave me His grace and forgiveness. Just as I was, He forgave and forgot those sins. I deserved wrath but received abounding love. Even though I made and make sinful choices, God remains faithful.
How has God recently revealed His faithfulness?
Thankful God is faithful,
