2 Corinthians 4:2 NIV 2011
Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.
What began in Genesis is completed in the New Testament: the characteristics of God’s truth. Paul shared God’s gracious wisdom. 2 Corinthians 1:12b, “We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace.” There were factions and false teachings filing the church at Corinth after his eighteen-month stay. 2 Corinthians 2:17, “Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit.” Paul was sent from God. Paul continued to proclaim God’s Truth. Paul did not hide God’s Truth or obscure anything from them. Truth is revealed in God’s Word, the Bible, by those called by God.
Having God’s Word at the tip of my fingers affords me the opportunity to daily feel His presence in new ways. With a Study Bible phone app I can turn to His Word when I’m on the go. Leafing through old Bibles from grandparents connects me knowing I am reading the same Truth they did. Whether listening intently to my pastor, a BSF teaching Leader or other godly men/women, I hear God’s Word. Studying the Bible I know The Word is without error, divinely inspired by God and written to reveal His Truth.
What truth is being revealed today?
