Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13-14 NIV 2011
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
God’s divine act of creation occurred on the sixth day. Men and women share the same likeness of God. Genesis 1:28, “Then God said: ‘Let us make mankind in our image.’” The “us” is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. David knew God put him together in his mother’s womb. God knew David because he knew what He made. Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart.” God makes no mistakes. We are created in God’s image.
There’ve been times when friends ask, “Do you look like your mother or father?” After studying God’s Word as an adult, I now smile and say, “like my Father.” So many are caught up in who we are and what we do rather than remembering we look like God. As a follower of Jesus, I’m to live my daily life as a reflection of the Father. I am fearfully and wonderfully made by God Himself. God doesn’t make mistakes. We’re all created in God’s image.
How are we reflecting God’s image?
Shining God’s image,
