Colossians 2:2-3 NIV 2011

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Genesis 2:18a, “The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone.’” God created a man. He then created a woman as his companion. Throughout the Old and New Testament, God offered His people others to share similar life experiences. Paul picked that same battle cry using it in his letters to the churches from Jerusalem to Rome. The church at Colossae needed to remember Christ was their foundation. Remaining one in Him, faith in Christ alone, they were united and would encourage one another. God’s faithful are encouraged and loved as members of a church family.

This morning was my last Sunday to worship with my church family. I said a tearful good-bye to the first friend God gave me. I knew it was communion Sunday and was blessed to sit with my small group sister-in-Christ and her family. My fellow worship-leader and small group friend sat behind me. The pastor’s wife said good-bye and hugged me. It has been my privilege to be part of this Christ centered church family the past six years. My church has loved and encouraged me daily.

How do God’s faithful encourage?

Loved by God’s faithful,

  1. Dear Sally, since you wrote about moving a few days ago, I assume you are leaving Columbus. That saddens me. Does it also mean that you will no longer be sending the daily emails? That really makes me sad because I enjoy them so much! It has been a privilege to share your Christian life and meaningful observations. Good luck in your new home and keep inspiring others as you daily inspired me. I feel as if you are my friend even though we have never met. Have a wonderful rest of your life! Be happy, Sally, no matter where you go.

    1. Thank you Mara for your comment. The joy is all mine as I serve the Lord, He has given me comments like yours and others to continue to encourage me. Yes we are moving but I will continue to write as my computer goes with me where ever I go. God’s still giving me Scripture each day and I will continue to answer His call. He placed a love for words in my heart long ago. He shows me daily how to honor Him and bring Him glory by using those words I find while writing each day.
Yes, you are my friend, a sister-in-Christ that God has given to me with which I might share His Word, daily.
My address may change but my daily will continue until He leads me to stop.
Thank you for the well wishes. He continues to lead me beside still waters and restore my soul. Sally 🙂

  2. Loved seeing you Sunday! You’re one of my best encouraging friends!! God go with you and be gracious to you!!
