Deuteronomy 18:18, John 5:46 NIV 2011
“I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.”
“If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.”
In 18:15 the Lord began speaking to Moses. Moses said, “a prophet like me,” telling the Israelites there would be someone coming after him. God revealed to Moses the coming of the Messiah. It is this same revelation Jesus carried with His birth. Those rejecting the witnesses of Jesus were actually rejecting the prophecy of Moses. Most of the New Testament writers were steeped in the Old Testament books, each pointing to the Messiah. God spoke His truth through the prophets. His truth was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. God’s Word is true, it is reliable and it is timeless.
I decided at a young age and chose to follow Jesus. I could believe all the words written in the Bible were either true or not. Deciding to follow Christ, I chose to believe God’s Word is true. Studying His Word on a daily basis here, I see passages of Scripture authenticate other Scripture. This makes it easier to stand on the final authority of Scripture. God’s True Word is my source of comfort. Sin entered the world in the garden. That debt was paid at the cross.
How will I share God’s Word today?
