1 Corinthians 3:10-11 NIV 2011
By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Paul was transformed forever when he met Jesus on the road to Damascus. His faith was founded on Jesus Christ and He was called to share the Good News. 1 Corinthians 2:2, “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” The foundation his faith was built on was the cornerstone, Jesus and the same as the apostles. Ephesians 2:20, “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” Christians believe their foundation for life is built on Jesus Christ.
Building a firm foundation for a home is the only way to be assured it will stand the test of time. My parents began the building my foundation each Sunday morning when we attended church. By building my foundation on Jesus it’s helped me at those times when the storms of life begin to rock it. Spending quality time in God’s Word, fellowship with fellow believers and conversations with Jesus strengthen that foundation on a daily basis. My life’s foundation is built on Jesus Christ.
