Ephesians 3:17-19 TLB
May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.
Paul was a prayer warrior. He wrote encouraging words to the Ephesian church to remember how much God loved them. Psalm 103:11, “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him.” Paul knew the faithful servants loved the people they served. Ephesians 1:15, “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people.” Man cannot comprehend God’s love. The depths of God’s love is immeasurable.
In 1995 a young man from Great Britain wrote a song that put these verses into perspective. That song is “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us.” It was written by Stuart Townend. It was one of my favorites that we sang at my church in New Albany. The final words are these: “But this I know with all my heart-His wounds have paid my ransom.” Jesus died for our sins because God loved us all that much. This is the depths of our Great God’s immeasurable love for us.
How is God’s immeasurable love our daily anchor?
Loved by God,
