2 Samuel 22:31-33 NIV 2011
As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, and keeps my way secure.
Samuel recorded David’s song of praise to the Lord. 2 Samuel 22:1, “David sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him.” David knew God’s was perfect and His word flawless. Psalm 12:6, “And the words of the Lord are flawless.” God had shielded him from many enemies as he found refuge in Him alone after finding refuge in physical rocks while being pursued. David knew there was no one like God. 2 Samuel 7:22, “There is no one like you, and there is no God but you.” God’s ways are perfect and secure.
After many years spent striving for perfection in my young adult years the Lord finally showed me that wasn’t what He expected. The more I studied God’s Word, the more I understood that was what He expected of me. He merely wanted me to cling to Him for what was lacking in my life. He became my Rock and I began to relax. Looking daily into God’s Word is the perfect way to grow my relationship with Him. Knowing God’s ways are perfect I’m perfectly secure.
How does leaning into God offer us prefect security?
