Psalm 138:2, 8 NIV 2011
I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.
The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever—do not abandon the works of your hands.
Though David was a flawed man God chose him as Israel’s king. Even though the physical temple wasn’t completed, David worshiped God at the tent where the ark was placed. David knew God was faithful. Psalm 108:4, “For great is your love, higher than the heavens: your faithfulness reaches to the skies.” Psalm 138:3, “When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.” God faithfully remained with David and never abandon him. Psalm 57:2. “I cry out to God most High, to God who vindicates me.” God faithfully remains with His people.
When dark days come into my life, I cling to one constant: God is with me. The passing of friends, loved ones or family that truth was there to bolster my walk every single step. Like David I know He will be beside me as “I walk through the darkest valley” and “I will fear no evil.” But there are so many that do not know Jesus or the hope we all share in His finished work on the cross. Daily I’m thankful God remains faithful to all His people.
Where have you seen His faithfulness today?
We’re faithfully His,
