Psalm 121:5-8 NIV 2011

The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.

This psalm begins with confession and ends confident God’s in control. Rest begins with God’s watchful eye. Psalm 91:1, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” The Lord protects those focused on Him. Psalm 14:8, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” God remains with His people. Deuteronomy 28:6, “You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” Lives surrendered to God bring peace.

When the world comes crashing down around me, I know that the Lord is watching over me. When I gave my life to Christ that changed the trajectory and purpose of it. From that moment forward He’s been aware of everything I say or do. Those times of family members passing were tempered knowing the Lord was right beside me. Making momentous decisions were bathed in prayer knowing He heard my petitions. Eyes focused on Him I’m not shocked or led astray. My life’s surrendered to Him and peaceful.

How do you experience God’s peace daily?

Living lives of surrender,

S
