I John 4:10-12 NIV 2011
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
In the apostle John’s first letter to the believers in western Asia Minor, his words were sent to encourage and assure the believers of the their faith in Jesus Christ. As a disciple of Jesus and having personally walked beside him, he had first hand knowledge of why Jesus came. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The unseen God’s love is made complete in believers who love one another.
Our world today is very much like that of believers living in Asia Minor. Many people I have met each day question God’s authority. Walking through the book of John at church, our Associate Pastor preached today on John 5:19-29. He ended by asking us a question, “Do you honor the Son?” And I added “daily” on my notes. Leaving a legacy is one way I will honor the Son. Loving others, His love is being made complete in me.
How will you love others this week?
Loved by Jesus daily,
