Joshua 1:8-9 NIV 2011
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
After the death of Moses, Joshua stood ready to lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land. The Lord spoke reminding him of all that He would give to them. Joshua 1:5, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” God gave Joshua the power to do what he’d been called to do. God didn’t want Joshua to forget the Book of the Law nor any of God’s commands. Power is given to God’s people who serve Him.
Remembering each and every faithful leader in my life reveals how blessed my life has been. Being a part of Bible Study Fellowship for more than thirty years, every Teaching Leader I’ve served beside has been amazing. Two uncles as pastors both had impacts on my life at an early age. Camp counselors, youth group leaders as well as each of my pastors have all reflected the same message: Power is given to God’s people who faithfully serve Him.
How do we serve the Lord daily?
Thankful for God’s mighty power,
