Jeremiah 23:23-24 NIV 2011
“Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord.
God has the transcendent, immanent ability to be all places at all times. Psalm 139:7, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” High and holy God has been and always will be. Isaiah 57:15, “For this is what the high and exalted One says—he who lives forever, whose name is holy: ‘I live in a high and hoy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.’” Remaining mindful of God’s presence believers experience His perfect peace.
While I know the Lord is present daily in my life, there’ve been times it’s caught off guard. Walking in the steps of the Master while in Israel, standing where Moses stood on Mt. Nebo and being in the hills of Jordan, sitting and praying as a heard of sheep ran down the hill where Jacob had his dream, God’s Peace surrounded me. Just like an American Express Card, I never leave home without Him. Awake in the middle of the night, I pray. I experience God’s perfect peace in His presence.
When have you experienced God’s perfect peace?
