Psalm 65:5-6 NIV 2011

You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength…

David had a personal relationship with the Lord. He went to Him in prayer knowing God created this earth through the mere power of His Word. David consistently witnessed God’s awesome power and deeds. Psalm 145:6, “They tell of the power of your awesome works—and I will proclaim your great deeds.” He knew God would strengthen him when he sought Him in prayer just as Moses sought the Lord to strengthen him. Deuteronomy 32:3, “I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!” Both men were prayer warriors. Almighty God hears and answers the prayers of His people.

My walk as a prayer warrior began in 1983 during my first BSF class studying the book of Matthew. I learned God hears our prayers. I also learned sometimes His answer is, “No.’” Over the years I’ve seen His answers to prayer: wait, yes and not now. But one thing I have learned, there is power in prayer. To know I can lay my request at the feet of the Master and wait is so reassuring. I’m able to rest in Him daily. Knowing He hears, I wait for His answer.

What do we need to pray about today?

Awaiting His answers together,

S
