Psalm 33:4-5, 107:41 NIV2011
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.
God’s sovereign Word is the way those in authority are to direct His people. God is a God of order. His desire is for goodness in those who rule which was visible in creation. Several commentators agree when the Psalter used the word “loves.” It refers to God’s delight. David often spoke of God’s “unfailing love,” Psalm 6:4, “Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.” God never forgets the needy. 1 Samuel 2:8a, “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.” God’s Word consistently shows His loving kindness toward His people.
There aren’t enough fingers and toes to count the times God has shown His loving kindness to me. When my feet hit the floor daily, it’s another opportunity to gaze at His marvelous creation even here in the high desert. After the challenges we’ve faced in life, He continues to remain faithful. Sharing lunch with a sister-in-Christ after church today was God’s way of saying, “I’ll continue to love and show you my unfailing love.” By saying “yes” to lunch God’s loving kindness was shared together.
Where do we see God’s loving-kindness?
Thankful together today,
