Psalm 119:33-35 NIV 2011

Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end. Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.

The Psalter wanted desperately to be taught God’s word. Psalm 119:12, “Praise be to you, Lord; teach me your decrees.” He longed for understanding of God’s Word. James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” As David did before him he wanted to know personally the path God had chosen for him. Psalm 25:4, “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.” God’s Word guides by teaching and directing believers to live godly lives.

Reading God’s Word is like winning the lottery of life. For those of us spending time daily in His Word and prayer, we actually have all the answers to living godly lives. There are examples of the good, the bad and the ugly. I just need to choose how I want to live my life. Day three being large and in charge of the two youngest grandkiddos, God revealed I need to give them boundaries just like I have. God guides and directs me toward godly living.

How does God give His people an unrestrained desire for Him above all things?

Living godly lives together,
